Flummoxed, an AI-powered research, product design, and development studio founded by Jason Schwartz and Devin Sawyer, launches MagicLens, the company's first product. MagicLens is a creative platform designed for imagination. It gives people three connected ways to work: make a magical digital keepsake from a photo (a new product category called the Momento), create any media asset in the MagicLens Studio, or build and automate repeatable creative workflows in Studio Pro.

MagicLens officially launches on October 13, 2026, with Momentos focused on Halloween, available to everyone. The MagicLens Studio and Studio Pro will launch in beta, available to select users for feedback, as the team at Flummoxed·AI continues building the tools and optimizing UX to deliver the unique value proposition their brand promises.

Flummoxed·AI's mission to "unlock human potential with AI" is a driving force behind MagicLens. Motivated by a belief that a person's 'imagination should be the only skill' required to produce high quality cinematic media, the founding team designed the platform to enable customers to "Create without friction".

The tech brings together the top frontier models with MagicLens proprietary prompt engineering and multi-modal workflow to power the creativity studio platform for 'everything people make and every way they create.' Today's AI generators can produce an image, a video or a piece of text, but the user has to supply the prompt engineering, understand a variety of AI models and their settings, be skilled in multiple creative arts, and establish their own workflow. Without these steps, making high quality creative can be time consuming, frustrating and very inconsistent. MagicLens is designed around the opposite idea. The expert's workflow is built into the product, so the user can focus on what they want to make.

"You bring the idea. The studio brings the craft" is how the team describes the experience. Behind each tool is a guided workflow that applies professional practice in model selection, prompt engineering and creative production. The same system keeps references and finished assets organized, moves them between tools, and helps turn the first idea into something complete and usable.

Momento: the new product category

MagicLens introduces a new product category for digital keepsakes called the Momento: a cinematic experience created from a single photo. It is designed for the people and memories that matter most: a familiar room visited by the Tooth Fairy, a favourite family photograph carried across time and place, or an ordinary moment made strange, funny or magical.

A Momento is not a social-media post. There is no feed, no algorithm and no required audience of strangers. It is a finished experience made to keep or send through the channels where people already maintain real relationships. Momentos are private by default. A customer's source photo is used only to make the Momento, is never used to train models, is not saved, and is deleted after the Momento is made.

The idea began with the kind of moment that is small inside a family and enormous to a child.

"I remember as a kid, watching films about Santa, wondering if that was really him and wishing I could stay up on Christmas Eve to see him. And that's what is so exciting about MagicLens, we get to deliver that wish with the Momento," says Devin, co-founder of Flummoxed.

Jason adds: "Last year, my daughter asked if she could stay awake to see Santa. I told her to go to sleep, and that I'll stay up and capture it all on video. I spent all Christmas eve using AI to engineer the perfect experience for her. I was actually astounded at how complex it was to get it just right. In some attempts, Santa was walking on the ceiling, presents were disappearing and new furniture would spontaneously appear in my living room. After several hours, and at least $50 spent, Santa did come and deliver presents. My daughter was overjoyed, for her it was a magical experience that she will remember forever. Out of this, the idea of MagicLens was born."

The Momentos launch catalogue is focussed on Halloween, demonstrating the unique quality that is shaped around moments that matter and occasions we celebrate within our communities, our families and friends. There is a variety of Momentos to choose from, showcasing the power and flexibility of the product in the spirit of creativity and fun. Halloween experiences include cinematic transformations such as the werewolf, zombie, costumes and masks, plus a variety of scares. Other Momentos such as Tooth Fairy, Time Machine, Masterpiece and Make Over FX fit the genre and the team is looking for feedback on all of them. The common feature is a realistic cinematic experience created from a single photograph.

Make, Create and Build on One Platform

The Momento is the easiest way into MagicLens, but it is not the edge of the product.

Make. Choose a ready-made Momento, add a photo and make it yours. The professional decisions have already been shaped into the experience, so the path from source image to cinematic keepsake is short and clear.

Create. MagicLens Studio is a full creative suite. A person can begin with an idea and create a script, character, reference sheet, storyboard, image, video, music, voice, finished film or brand system. The tools guide the work through the expert's process instead of opening on an empty prompt box.

Build. Studio Pro lets creators design and automate their own production workflows. They can connect inputs, references, prompts, AI models, quality checks and outputs on one canvas, then run the system again to produce consistent, on-brand work at scale.

Five Properties That Change the Work

MagicLens is not differentiated by access to an AI model or by calling itself an AI creative studio. Those have become table stakes. Its difference is a five-part system designed around what a person needs to finish the job.

1. The expert's workflow is the product. Every tool turns a professional process into guided choices. The embedded expertise includes the AI craft itself: selecting the right model and applying the prompt and rendering practices suited to the job. Beginners do not have to become experts before they can begin, while experienced creators can move faster without repeating that evaluation work.

2. Asset management is built into creating. What the user chooses and approves is filed as they work. Characters, locations, scenes, logos, references and final outputs remain named, findable and ready to reuse instead of disappearing into a downloads folder beneath hundreds of discarded renders.

3. The product makes complete systems, not isolated outputs. MagicLens carries a definition of done. A story needs more than a frame. A film needs more than a clip. A brand needs more than a logo. The studio shows the missing pieces and helps the user finish the whole system.

4. The tools are interconnected. One tool's output becomes the next tool's input. An idea can move into a storyboard; a character can move into its scenes; those scenes can become a film or comic. A Momento can become a starting point for more work in the Studio without making the user begin again.

5. Work is on-brand by construction. A business can establish its logo, colour, type and visual rules, then carry those approved assets into everything it makes. Consistency is part of the workflow, not a repair step after production.

These properties are designed to work together. Any one can be copied as a feature. Together they change the product from a collection of generators into a creative system that supplies the craft and discipline other tools expect the user to bring.

The team's USP states the contrast directly: everyone else sells the tools of the trade; MagicLens offers the trade. Its value proposition is equally direct: beginners can reach expert outcomes, and professionals can reach them with less friction.

Design for Grandma (Not an Abstract Persona)

The standard for that promise is real people with real work to do. Instead of designing personas for the UX, the team focuses on building a product Jason's grandmother can use. She's written a book and wants to extend it beyond the page with videos and visuals that take the story into new media. She needs branding, a visual identity and content to help people discover it.

That goal concentrates the entire product challenge. She shouldn't need to become a prompt engineer, filmmaker, designer, and marketer before she can promote the book she already had the expertise and determination to write. Nor should the product confuse ease with novelty and give her an impressive-looking fragment she can't reuse consistently across channels. The experience must be understandable without a course and effective enough to produce finished materials that serve her purpose.

This is also how Flummoxed approaches product design. The company starts with a problem its founders want solved or an idea they want to see exist, then builds it the way people build for someone they know, because that's often exactly who it is for. The test is whether the finished product leaves that person more capable than it found them.

From a First Product to a Product Studio

MagicLens is both Flummoxed's first product and part of the capability behind what comes next. The workflows, asset discipline and deployment systems built for MagicLens give the company a reusable foundation for developing new AI-powered products around other real problems and audiences.

For Flummoxed, that is the point of launching a product rather than a demonstration. Research has to become an experience a person can use. Differentiation has to survive contact with the interface. And launch includes finding the audience, testing whether the product works for them, learning and improving it.

The company's mission is Unlocking Human Potential with AI. MagicLens is the first public expression of that mission: a product designed to make people more creative and effective without first asking them to become experts in the machinery.
